History of Desert Thunder

Desert Thunder Custom Cycle Works LLC. comes from very humble beginnings. What was just to be a hobby working out of a storage unit has culminated into a thriving enterprise. Hard work, dedication, attention to detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction helped Don on the inevitable climb to success, and the success of Desert Thunder. After 6 years in a storage unit, Desert Thunder is now in a 4,500+ square foot building and is located at 955 North 1300 West Saint George, Utah.

Word soon spread that in a small town in Saint George Utah a person could purchase a motorcycle for a reasonable price, and have it worked on by a qualified mechanic, and be treated with common courtesy and consideration in a local owned and run store.

Desert Don has been a Harley Davidson enthusiast since 1970. With this, he took his many years of knowledge of Harley Davidson and motorcycles in general and decided to help his buddies out with their Harley’s. Well, his buddies told their buddies and well it kind of exploded into what we are today. Overwhelmed with paperwork and running the day to day business, Don reached a plateau with the business and had to make the decision to expand or ride into the sunset.

In 2003 Don’s world was turned upside down when Shirley Marsh walked into his life. Shirley offered to help out for a couple of days but Don soon realized that she had knowledge of the motorcycle industry that was second to none. Shirley previously owned and operated a motorcycle business in Irvine, California. Don and Shirley are an unstoppable team. They are the names to remember in this industry.
